Sterling Partners started with a straightforward frustration: the platforms available to European traders were either built for US markets or priced for hedge funds.
What Sterling Partners Does
Sterling Partners develops and operates an AI-powered trading terminal for active retail traders, independent quants, and small fund managers operating in European and global markets. The platform covers five tightly integrated modules: live market data with sub-100ms latency from major exchanges, a strategy automation engine supporting both visual rule building and Python SDK development, a hard-wired risk-control layer enforced at the order-routing level, a real-time consolidated portfolio tracker, and a tick-level backtesting engine with walk-forward optimisation. The platform is a software subscription — we do not manage client capital, provide investment advice, or take positions in markets on behalf of clients. We build the terminal; traders build and run their own strategies on it.
Who We Serve and How We Work
Our primary users are full-time traders and quantitative analysts based in the EU — Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Germany account for the majority of our client base — who need institutional-grade data and execution tooling at a price point accessible without a prime-brokerage relationship. The company was founded in 2019 by a team of four engineers and one former equity trader, and has grown to twelve people across product, engineering, and client support. In five years of operation we have processed over 14 million order submissions through the platform and maintained better than 99.7% uptime during market hours. We are not the right solution for traders who need advisory services, copy-trading, or signal subscriptions — those products exist elsewhere. What we do is give technically capable traders the infrastructure to run their own edge, consistently and at scale, without the overhead of building and maintaining bespoke execution technology.
